Official Contest Rules

• These contest rules are specific to the above contest conducted by Entercom Kansas City, LLC d/b/a KQRC (collectively, the “Station”).   Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the Station’s general contest rules apply to this contest as well.  A copy of these specific contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules are available at the Station’s studio at 7000 Squibb Road in Mission, KS during regular business hours and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.989therock.com. To the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this Contest.

How to Enter

1.NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST.

2.To enter, from April 14th, 2015 at 3 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. on April 30th, 2015 go to www.989therock.com and click on the Jägermeister Battle Of The Bands link and complete the on-line entry form with:

(a) your contact information (name, daytime telephone number and email address)

(b) upload a fully produced video, a lyric video, or what you think represents your band. Only one entry per band allowed. Video should not exceed  six (6)  minutes (longer videos will not be disqualified but Station judges will only view the first six (6)  minutes of each entry and only the first six (6) minutes will be posted online, if applicable). The uploaded video must be in one of the following video formats: .avi, .dv, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .mpeg, .3gp, .asf, .wmv, .mpg. Maximum file size is 200 MB.

(c) check the required Consent & Release Form and acknowledge you have read and understand these official contest rules and waiver for submitting an entry into this Contest. ANY VIDEO THAT CONTAINS ANY COPYRIGHTED MUSIC NOT PUBLICLY AND PRIVATELY OWNED BY THE BAND SUBMITTING THE ENTRY WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED AND WILL HAVE NO FURTHER INVOLVEMENT IN THIS CONTEST. Entrants may not even sing or speak the lyrics to any copyrighted song or any other copyrighted material in their video (no portion of copyrighted poems, etc…) unless the associated copyrights are owned by the entrant and no one else (Station may require proof). 

3.   ENTRANT AND ALL PEOPLE VISIBLE IN THE VIDEO MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER ON THE DATE OF ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE. CONTEST.

4.By entering this contest the entrant consents to use of the video (in whole or in part) by Station in any manner it sees fit with no compensation to the entrant.  By submitting a video each Entrant represents and warrants that they own the rights to, or have obtained permission to use, the video submitted with each entry.  Further, each Entrant authorizes the Station to post the video (in whole or in part, in edited or unedited form) on the Station website(s), Facebook page or via other social media sites.  

4.Video entries must not contain any indecency, profanity or obscenity as determined by Station in its sole discretion. Video entries must not contain or depict any registered trade/service mark or other copyrighted material other than those owned or licensed by the entrants or the Station or a Contest Sponsor.  BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST AND SUBMITTING A VIDEO, THE ENTRANT IS REPRESENTING TO STATION THAT THE USE AND DISTRIBUTION OF SUCH VIDEO WILL NOT VIOLATE OR INFRINGE UPON THE RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, COPYRIGHTS OF OTHERS.  By submitting a picture, Entrants agree to indemnify Station should any representations and warranties in these contest rules prove to be false or inaccurate.

5.By entering this contest, Entrants understand and agree that Station may elect to use any entry submitted for entertainment purposes and may choose to comment on, mock, poke fun at, and/or mimic any entry submitted.  Entrants waive any right to make any claim against Station or any contest sponsors with respect to any comments - disparaging or otherwise - made regarding such Entrant’s entry.

How to Win

6.   Starting on or about May 1st, 2015 through approximately May 15th, 2015 (the “Voting Period”) Station will post all eligible entries on-line on the Jägermeister Battle of the Bands page at www.989therock.com so that listeners and visitors may vote for their favorite entry. Only one vote per day per person allowed. Voters must be 21 or older. LISTENER VOTING IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES AND WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION DETERMINING FACTOR IN SELECTING WINNERS. LISTENER VOTES MAY BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, BUT WILL NOT BE A SIGNIFICANT DETERMINING FACTOR AS TO WHICH ENTRANT WILL BE WINNER.

7.On or about May 18th, 2015 Station staff and/or management will select the five (5) entries that received the most votes during the Voting Period (subject to eligibility verification and compliance with these contest rules) as the Top 5 Videos in this contest. Station judges deem the best based on any lawful criteria (as determined by the Station in its sole discretion) and KQRC reserves the right to replace a Top Five band at its own discretion.

Prize(s)

8.   The Top 5 entries that receive the most entries (the most entries in 1st, second most entries in 2nd, etc.) will be invited to play the Jägermeister Stage at Rockfest at Liberty Memorial on Saturday, May 30th 2015.

9.   There is no additional prize of any value in this Contest. No compensation of any kind will be made to any entry or Top 5 band in this contest under any circumstance and the prize awarded is only the opportunity for five (5) unsigned bands to play at Rockfest 2015.

Other Rules Specific to This Contest

11.  The band submitting an entry is/are the only person(s) entitled to win a spot in the Top 5 for the Jägermeister Stage at Rockfest 2015. Persons depicted in any video submitted that are not part of the band and that do not require acknowledgement of Consent & Release are not entitled to win.
